The intelligent 7G-Tronic transmission reacts automatically to changes in your driving and selects the right ratio for every situation.
7G-Tronic. All GL models come with 7G-Tronic
automatic transmission as standard. Operated
via the Direct Select shift lever on the steering
column, 7G-Tronic helps to minimise fuel
consumption, its seven forward gears ensuring
the engine is always operating at the ideal
speed. It also delivers faster, smoother and
quieter shifts as well as greater pulling power
and better acceleration. In addition, the
Direct Select. Instead of a conventional shift
lever between the seats, the GL has an intuitive
Direct Select shift lever on the steering wheel
column. Just tap the lever to switch between
P, N, R and D and your input is transmitted
electronically to the transmission. Alternatively,
you can opt to change gear manually via the
steering wheel shift paddles.
