Climate control
The right cabin climate makes for a relaxed, alert driver and contented passengers. Which is why
the GL lets everyone choose their own individual temperature settings.
Automatic climate control (standard on GL350
CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, not available on GL450
CDI and GL 500). The standard climate control
system automatically maintains your chosen
cabin temperature and air flow settings, even
compensating for bright sun via a windscreen-
mounted sensor that measures the intensity and Luxury automatic climate control (optional).
angle of sunlight. In addition, it includes separ ate
air vents for rear seat passengers, as well as
a chilled glove compartment, an air recirculation
function, and a combined dust and activated
charcoal filter that also captures particulates.
With luxury automatic climate control, which
comes as standard on the GL450 CDI and
GL500, everyone can determine their own
individual temperature and air flow settings.
It includes separate controls and displays
for those in the rear, plus extra vents in the
B-pillars and an additional fan below the centre
console. It also keeps the cabin largely free
of odours and pollutants and maintains an
appropriate level of humidity in order to ensure
the occupants can always breathe naturally.
The luxury automatic climate control system is intuitive and easy to use
