R
Terrainresponse
If the sand to be crossed is damp/wet, and
sufficiently deep to cause the wheels to sink
into the surface, the Mud-Ruts programme
should be used.
SYSTEM DIFFICULTIES
Use of an incorrect programme will
impair the vehicle's response to the
terrain and can reduce the life of the
suspension and drive systems.
ROCK CRAWL
If the system becomes partially inoperable for
any reason, it may not be possible to select
special programmes.
This programme should be used for
terrain which is predominantly
rocky, including for crossing river
beds with submerged rocks.
If a participating vehicle system becomes
temporarily inoperable, the General programme
will be automatically selected. Once the system
returns to normal operation, the previously
active programme will be reactivated unless the
ignition has been turned off in the mean time.
This programme provides good low-speed
control.
Rock crawl can only be selected in Low range.
If the selection is made while in High range, the
Message centre will prompt you to select Low
range.
If you try to select an inappropriate special
programme (e.g. selecting Rock crawl while in
High range), the relevant indicator will flash
amber and the Message centre will provide
further information. If the appropriate action is
not taken within 60 seconds, the warnings will
cease and the Message centre will show the
active programme.
Note: With Off-Road 2 suspension height
selected (see 116, OFF-ROAD HEIGHT) and a
shallow approach angle, a wading depth of up
to 900 mm (35.4 in) is possible. Also make sure
that departure from the water is also at a
shallow angle. Shallow entry and departure
angles will avoid the possibility of any part of
the vehicle being submerged to a greater depth
than specified.
If the system becomes completely inoperable,
all of the special programme indicators will be
switched off and a relevant message will be
displayed in the Message centre.
DRIVER OVERRIDE OPTIONS
Hill Descent Control (HDC) is automatically
engaged for some Terrain response
programmes. If required, HDC can be deselected
or engaged independently of Terrain response.
See 144, HDC CONTROLS.
The HDC status will be displayed on the
Message centre whether it is engaged, or
disengaged, by the system or by the driver.
Although Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is
automatically engaged when a special
programme is selected, it can be turned off if
required. See 114, SWITCHING DSC OFF.

I stopped to buy fuel. On shifting to D to move, my range rover could not move, but low gear light continued to blink. The low gear button remained stiff. What is wrong?
