Do not operate at sustained high engine or road
speedsinlowergears.Enginedamagemayresult.
WARNING!
When parking your vehicle, always leave a manual
transmission in first gear and apply the parking
brakefullytoguardagainstvehiclemovementand
possibleinjuryordamage.Neveruseanygearasa
substitutefortheparkingbrake.
Donotdownshiftintoalowgearwhiletravelingattoo
highaspeedforthatgear.Engine,clutch,ortransmis-
siondamagemayresult.
Doheatnotbuilduprestyourandfootdamagesonthetheclutchclutch.pedal.Thiscauses
Whenyouslowdownorgoupagrade,downshiftas
speedrequiresortheenginemayoverheat.
CAUTION!
Neverholdthevehiclestoppedonahillbyusingthe
clutchpedal.Theclutchmaybedamaged.
Todriveassafelyaspossibleandtoprolongthelife
ofyourmanualtransmission,followthesetips:
During cold weather, you may experience increased
effort in shifting until the transmission fluid warms
up.Thisisnormal.
Before shifting from a forward gear into reverse, or
from reverse to a forward gear, stop vehicle com-
pletely.Otherwise,transmissiondamagemayresult.
Push in the clutch pedal completely when shifting.
Otherwise,transmissionorclutchdamagemayresult.
