Takecarethattheclampsfromonecabledonottouch
WARNING!
clampsfromtheothercable.Donotleanoverthebattery
when making the connection. The negative connection
must provide good electrical conductivity and current
carryingcapacity.
Donotconnectthecabletothenegativeterminal
ofthedischargedbattery.Theresultingelectrical
sparkcouldcausethebatterytoexplode.
During cold weather when temperatures are be-
low freezing point, electrolyte in a discharged
batterymayfreeze.Donotattemptjumpstarting
becausethebatterycouldruptureorexplode.The
battery temperature must be brought up above
freezingpointbeforeattemptingtojumpstart.

thecablesmustbedisconnectedinthefollowingorder:
Aftertheengineisstartedoriftheenginefailstostart,
a. Disconnectthenegativecableattheengineground.
b. Disconnectthenegativecableatthenegativetermi-
nalontheboosterbattery.
c. Disconnectthecablefromthepositiveterminalsof
bothbatteries.
