Seating and Safety Restraints
Important supplemental restraint system (SRS)  precautions
Thesupplementalrestraintsystem
isdesignedtoworkwiththeseat
belttohelpprotectthedriverand
rightfrontpassengerfromcertain
upperbodyinjuries.
WARNING:AirbagsDO
NOTinflateslowlyorgently
andtheriskofinjuryfroma
deployingairbagisgreatestclose
tothetrimcoveringtheairbag
module.
WARNING:Alloccupantsofthevehicle,includingthedriver,
shouldalwaysproperlyweartheirseatbelts,evenwhenanair
bagsupplementalrestraintsystem(SRS)isprovided.
WARNING:Whenpossible,allchildren12yearsoldandunder
shouldbeproperlyrestrainedinarearseatingposition.
WARNING:NationalHighwayTrafficSafetyAdministration
(NHTSA)recommendsaminimumdistanceofatleast10inches
cm)betweenanoccupant’schestandthedriverairbagmodule.

WARNING:Thedrivershouldalwaysholdontoonlytherimof
thesteeringwheel.Neverplaceyourarmovertheairbagmodule
oranywhereinsidetherimasadeployingairbagcanresultinserious
armfracturesorotherinjuries.
Stepsyoucantaketoproperlypositionyourselfawayfromtheairbag:

Moveyourseattotherearasfarasyoucanwhilestillreachingthe
pedalscomfortably.
Reclinetheseatslightly(oneortwonotches)fromtheupright
position.
