Theside-curtainairbagsconsistsof
thefollowing:

Aninflatablenyloncurtainwitha
gasgeneratorconcealedbehind
theheadlinerandabovethedoors
(oneoneachsideofvehicle).

Aheadlinerdesignedtoflexopen
abovethesidedoorstoallowside-curtainairbagdeployment.
Thesamewarninglight,electroniccontrolanddiagnosticunitasused
forthefrontairbags.

TwocrashsensorsmountedatlowerB-Pillar(oneoneachside).
Twocrashsensorslocatedatthec-pillarbehindthereardoors(one
oneachside).

Rolloversensorintherestraintscontrolmodule(RCM).
Theside-curtainairbags,incombinationwithseatbelts,canhelpreduce
theriskofsevereinjuriesintheeventofasignificantsideimpact
collisionorrolloverevent.
Children12yearsoldandundershouldalwaysbeproperlyrestrainedin
therearseats.Theside-curtainairbagswillnotinterferewithchildren
restrainedusingaproperlyinstalledchildorboosterseatbecauseitis
designedtoinflatedownwardfromtheheadlinerabovethedoorsalong
thesidewindowopening.
Theside-curtainairbagsaredesignedtoactivatewhenthevehicle
sustainslateraldecelerationsufficienttocausetheRCMtoinitiate
side-curtainairbaginflationorwhenacertainlikelihoodofarollover
eventisdetectedbytherolloversensor.
