immediatelyifthereisanyevidenceofdeteriora-
tion or damage.

o Engine oil and filter
Theengineoilandfiltershouldbechangedatthe
intervalsspecifiedinthemaintenanceschedule.
If the car is being driven in severe conditions,
morefrequentoilandfilterchangesarerequired.

o Timing belt
Inspect all parts related to the timing belt for
damage and deformation. Replace any dam-
agedpartsimmediately.

o Air cleaner filter
A Genuine Hyundai air cleaner filter is recom-
mended when the filter is replaced.

o Drive belts
Inspectalldrivebeltsforevidenceofcuts,cracks,
excessive wear or oil saturation and replace if
necessary. Drive belts should be checked peri-
odically for proper tension and adjusted as nec-
essary.

o Vapour hose and fuel filler cap
The vapor hose and fuel filler cap should be
inspectedatthoseintervalsspecifiedinthemain-
tenanceschedule.Makesurethatanewvapour
hose or fuel filler cap is correctly replaced.

o Spark plugs
Make sure to install new spark plugs of the
correct heat range.

o Vacuum, crankcase
ventilation hoses
Inspect excessive valve noise and/or engine
vibration and adjust if necessary. A qualified
technicianshouldperformtheoperation.
A clogged filter can limit the speed at which the
vehicle may be driven, damage the emission
system and cause hard starting. If an excessive
amountofforeignmatteraccumulatesinthefuel
tank, the filter may require replacement more
frequently.
After installing a new filter, run the engine for
several minutes, and check for leaks at the
connections.
Inspectthesurfaceofhosesforevidenceofheat
and/ormechanicaldamage.Hardandbrittlerub-
ber,cracking,tears,cuts,abrasions,andexces-
sive swelling indicate deterioration. Particular
attentionshouldbepaidtoexaminingthosehose
surfaces nearest to high heat sources, such as
theexhaustmanifold.
Inspectthehoseroutingtoassurethatthehoses
