Thepassengersafetybeltshavetwotypesoflockingmodesdescribed
below:
Vehicle sensitive mode
Thisisthenormalretractormode,whichallowsfreeshoulderbeltlength
adjustmenttoyourmovementsandlockinginresponsetovehicle
movement.Forexample,ifthedriverbrakessuddenlyorturnsacorner
sharply,orthevehiclereceivesanimpactofapproximately5mph(8
km/h)ormore,thecombinationsafetybeltswilllocktohelpreduce
forwardmovementofthedriverandpassengers.
Automatic locking mode
Inthismode,theshoulderbeltisautomaticallypre-locked.Thebeltwill
stillretracttoremoveanyslackintheshoulderbelt.Theautomatic
lockingmodeisnotavailableonthedriversafetybelt.
Thismodeshouldbeusedanytimeachildsafetyseat(otherthana
belt-positioningbooster)isinstalled.Children12yearsoldandunder
shouldbeproperlyrestrainedintherearseatwheneverpossible.Refer

thischapter.
