Unlocking/locking in an emergency
Unlocking the trunk
̈ Insert the mechanical key into the
Locking the vehicle
trunk lid lock until it stops.
A minimum height clearance of 5.41 ft
If you cannot lock the vehicle with the
SmartKey or SmartKey with
KEYLESS-GO*, do the following:

The trunk lid lock is located next to the

Close the passenger door and the
trunk.

Pull the trunk lid handle 2 and lift the
trunk lid.
Press the central locking switch in the
center console (୴ page 118).
The trunk opens.

Check to see whether the locking knob
on the passenger door has moved
down.
The trunk lid swings open upwards
automatically. Always make sure there
is sufficient overhead clearance.

If necessary, push it down manually.
Remove the mechanical key out of the

Turn the mechanical key back and
remove it from the trunk lid lock.

Unlocking in an emergency

SmartKey (୴ page 419).

Check whether the trunk is locked.
If necessary, lock the trunk with the
mechanical key (୴ page 116).
Except for the driver’s door, the vehicle
should now be locked.
