Beforereturningtheseatbacktoitsoriginalposition,makesure
thatcargooranyobjectsarenottrappedbehindtheseatback.
Afterreturningtheseatbacktoitsoriginalposition,pullonthe
seatbacktoensurethatithasfullylatched.Anunlatchedseatmay
becomedangerousintheeventofasuddenstoporcollision.
Adjusting the front power seat (if equipped)
Neveradjustthedriver’sseatorseatbackwhenthevehicleis
moving.
Donotpilecargohigherthantheseatbackstoreducetheriskof
injuryinacollisionorsuddenstop.
Alwaysdriveandridewithyourseatbackuprightandthelap
beltsnugandlowacrossthehips.
Recliningtheseatbackcancauseanoccupanttoslideunderthe
seat’ssafetybelt,resultinginseverepersonalinjuriesinthe
eventofacollision.
Sittingimproperlyoutofpositionorwiththeseatbackreclined
toofarcantakeoffweightfromtheseatcushionandaffectthe
decisionofthefrontpassengersensingsystem,resultinginserious
injuryordeathinacrash.Alwayssituprightagainstyourseatback,
withyourfeetonthefloor.
Toreducetheriskofpossibleseriousinjury:Donothangobjects
offseatbackorstowobjectsintheseatbackmappocket(if
equipped)whenachildisinthefrontpassengerseat.Donotplace
objectsunderneaththefrontpassengerseatorbetweentheseatand
thecenterconsole(ifequipped).Checkthe“passengerairbagoff”or
“passairbagoff”indicatorlampforproperairbagstatus.RefertoFront
passengersensingsystemsectionforadditionaldetails.Failureto
followtheseinstructionsmayinterferewiththefrontpassengerseat
sensingsystem.
Thecontrolislocatedontheoutboardsideoftheseatcushion.
