Incasethereisaproblemwiththe
frontpassengersensingsystem,the
airbagreadinesslightinthe
instrumentclusterwillstaylit.
Iftheairbagreadinesslightislit,dothefollowing:
Thedriverand/oradultpassengersshouldcheckforanyobjectsthat
maybelodgedunderneaththefrontpassengerseatorcargointerfering
withtheseat.
Ifobjectsarelodgedand/orcargoisinterferingwiththeseat;pleasetake
thefollowingstepstoremovetheobstruction:

Pullthevehicleover.
Turnthevehicleoff.
Driverand/oradultpassengersshouldcheckforanyobjectslodged
underneaththefrontpassengerseatorcargointerferingwiththeseat.

Removetheobstruction(s)(iffound).
Restartthevehicle.
Waitatleast2minutesandverifythattheairbagreadinesslightisno
longerilluminated
•
Iftheairbagreadinesslightremainsilluminated,thismayormay/not
beaproblemduetothefrontpassengersensingsystem.
DONOTattempttorepairorservicethesystem;takeyourvehicle
immediatelytoanauthorizeddealer.
Ifitisnecessarytomodifyanadvancedfrontairbagsystemto
accommodateapersonwithdisabilities,contacttheFordCustomer
RelationshipCenteratthephonenumbershownintheCustomer
AssistancesectionofthisOwner’sGuide.
Anyalteration/modificationtothefrontpassengerseatmay
affecttheperformanceofthefrontpassengersensingsystem.
Determining if the system is operational
Thesupplementalrestraintsystemusesawarningindicatorlightinthe
instrumentclusteroraback-uptonetoindicatetheconditionofthe
system.RefertotheWarninglightsandchimessectioninthe
InstrumentClusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceoftheairbagisnot
required.
