Ifthebatterygoesdeadwhilethetheft-
deterrentsystemisarmed,thehornwill
activateandthehazardwarninglightswill
flashwhenthebatteryischargedorreplaced.
Atriggeredalarmcanbeturnedoffby
anyoneofthefollowingmethods:
Unlockadoororthetrunklidwiththe

Presstheunlockbuttononthekeyless
entrysystemtransmitter.

Removethekeyfromtheignition
switch.
NOTE
Ifyouhaveanyproblemwiththetheft-
deterrentsystem,consultanAuthorizedMazda
Dealer.

Makesurethehoodisclosed.Close
andlockalldoorsandtheliftgate/trunk
lidfromtheoutsideusingthekey.If
youhavethekeylessentrysystem,
pressthelockbuttononthetransmitter.
qTheft-DeterrentLabels
Thefollowingmethodwillalsoarmthe
theft-deterrentsystem:
Closethehoodandtheliftgate/trunk
lid.Presstheareaonthedoor-lock
switchmarked“LOCK”once.Closeall
doors.
Thehazardwarninglightswillflash
oncetoindicatethatthesystemis
armed.
NOTE
Lockingthedoorswiththeinsidedoor-lock
knobwillnotarmthesystem.
Alabelindicatingthatyourvehicleis
equippedwithaTheft-DeterrentSystemis
intheglovecompartment.
qToTurnoffanArmedSystem
Mazdarecommendsthatyouaffixittothe
lowerrearcornerofafrontdoorwindow.
Anarmedsystemcanbeturnedoffbyany
oneofthefollowingmethods:
Unlockadoororthetrunklidwiththe

Presstheunlockbuttononthekeyless

entrysystemtransmitter.
Insertthekeyintotheignitionswitch

andturnittotheONposition.
