crosshatchedareamarked“HOT”(betweentheupper Six-SpeedAutomaticTransmission)–IfEquipped
twoholesinthedipstick).
Thesix-speedautomatictransmissionisasealedunitand
has no dipstick. See your authorized dealer to have the
transmissionfluidcheckedorserviced.
b. Ifthefluidiscold,thefluidlevelshouldbebetween
thelowertwoholesintheareamarked“COLD”.
FluidandFilterChanges
Referto“MaintenanceSchedule”forthepropermainte-
nanceintervals.
If the fluid level indicates that it is low, add sufficient
fluidtobringittotheproperlevel.
CAUTION!
If the transmission is disassembled for any reason, the
fluidandfiltershouldbechanged.
Do not overfill. Dirt and water in the transmission
cancauseseriousdamage.Topreventdirtandwater
from entering the transmission after checking or
replenishingfluid,makecertainthatthedipstickcap
isreseatedproperly.
SpecialAdditives
Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) is an engineered 7
productanditsperformancemaybeimpairedbysupple-
mental additives. Therefore, do not add any fluid addi-
tives to the transmission. The only exception to this
policyistheuseofspecialdyestoaidindetectingfluid
leaks. In addition, avoid using transmission sealers as
theymayadverselyaffectseals.
