Checktheengineoil.Forinstructions,refertoCheckingtheengine
oilinthischapter.

Iftheengineoillevelisnotwithinthenormalrange,addonlycertified
engineoiloftherecommendedviscosity.Removetheengineoilfillercap
anduseafunneltopourtheengineoilintotheopening.

Rechecktheengineoillevel.Makesuretheoillevelisnotabovethe
MAXmarkontheengineoillevelindicator(dipstick).

Installtheindicatorandensureitisfullyseated.
Fullyinstalltheengineoilfillercapbyturningthefillercapclockwise
1/4
ofaturnuntilthreeclicksareheardoruntilthecapisfullyseated.
Toavoidpossibleoilloss,DONOToperatethevehiclewiththe
engineoillevelindicatorand/ortheengineoilfillercapremoved.
Engine oil and filter  recommendations
Lookforthiscertification

SAE5W-20engineoilisrecommended.
Onlyuseoils“CertifiedForGasolineEngines”bytheAmerican
PetroleumInstitute(API).UseMotorcraftoranequivalentoilmeeting
FordspecificationWSS-M2C153–H.SAE5W-20oilprovidesoptimum
fueleconomyanddurabilityperformancemeetingall
requirementsforyourvehicle’sengine.
Donotusesupplementalengineoiladditives,oiltreatmentsorengine
treatments.Theyareunnecessaryandcould,undercertainconditions,
leadtoenginedamagewhichisnotcoveredbyyourwarranty.
Changeyourengineoilandfilteraccordingtotheappropriateschedule
listedinthescheduledmaintenanceguide.
