Carefullyturnthefillercapcounterclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilit
stops.

Pulltoremovethecapfromthefuelfillerpipe.

Toinstallthecap,alignthetabsonthecapwiththenotchesonthe
fillerpipe.
Turnthefillercapclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilitstops.

The“CheckFuelCap”lightilluminateswhentheignitionisturnedtothe
ONposition.Itwillalsoilluminatewhenthefuelfillercapisnotproperly
installed.Properfuelfillercapinstallationischeckedautomaticallyas
thevehicleisdriven,butnotuntilaftersomefuelisused(fuelgauge
dropsbelowfull).Oncethefuelfillercapisproperlysecured,the“Check
FuelCap”lightwillturnoffafterashortperiodofdriving.
Ifyoumustreplacethefuelfillercap,replaceitwithafuelfiller
capthatisdesignedforyourvehicle.Thecustomerwarrantymay
bevoidforanydamagetothefueltankorfuelsystemifthe
correctgenuineFordorMotorcraftfuelfillercapisnotused.
Thefuelsystemmaybeunderpressure.Ifthefuelfillercapis
ventingvapororifyouhearahissingsound,waituntilitstops
beforecompletelyremovingthefuelfillercap.Otherwise,fuelmay
sprayoutandinjureyouorothers.
Ifyoudonotusetheproperfuelfillercap,excessivepressureor
vacuuminthefueltankmaydamagethefuelsystemorcause
thefuelcaptodisengageinacollision,whichmayresultinpossible
personalinjury.

UseonlyUNLEADEDFUEL.Theuseofleadedfuelisprohibitedbylaw
andcoulddamageyourvehicle.
Donotusefuelcontainingmethanol.Itcandamagecriticalfuelsystem
components.
