detectsdrivingwheelslippage,itlowers
enginetorquetopreventlossoftraction.
Thismeansthatonaslicksurface,the
engineadjustsautomaticallytoprovide
optimumpowertothedrivewheels
withoutcausingthemtospinandlose
traction.
Thesystemisoffwhentheignitionisoff.

Cruisecontrolwillcancelatabout15
km/h(9mph)belowthepresetspeedor
below30km/h(19mph).
TCSandUnsafeDriving:
Thetractioncontrolsystem(TCS)
cannotcompensateforunsafeand
recklessdriving,excessivespeed,
tailgating(followinganothervehicle
tooclosely),andhydroplaning
(reducedtirefrictionandroadcontact
becauseofwaterontheroadsurface).
Youcanstillhaveanaccident.So
don'trelyonthetractioncontrol
systemasasubstituteforsafedriving.
TCSandSnowandIce:
Drivingwithoutpropertraction
devicesonsnowand/orice-covered
roadsisdangerous.Thetraction
controlsystem(TCS)alonecannot
provideadequatetractionandyou
couldstillhaveanaccident.Usesnow
tiresanddriveatreducedspeedswhen
roadsarecoveredwithiceand/or
snow.
