Allowinganyonetoleanoveror
againstthefrontdoor,theareaofthe
frontseat,frontandrearwindow
pillarsandtheroofedgealongboth
sidesfromwhichthesideandcurtain
airbagsdeploy,eventhoughusinga
child-restraintsystem,isdangerous.If
thevehicleisequippedwithsideand
curtainairbags,theimpactof
inflationcouldcauseseriousinjuryor
deathtothechild.Furthermore,
leaningoveroragainstthefrontdoor
couldblockthesideandcurtainair
bagsandeliminatetheadvantagesof
supplementalprotection.Withthe
frontairbagandtheadditionalside
airbagthatcomesoutofthefront
seat,therearseatisalwaysabetter
locationforchildren.Donotallowa
childtoleanoveroragainstthedoors,
evenifthechildisseatedinachild-
restraintsystem.
Togettheretractorintotheautomatic
lockingmode,pulltheshoulderbelt
portionoftheseatbeltuntiltheentire
lengthofthebeltisoutoftheretractor.
4. Pushthechild-restraintsystemfirmly
intothevehicleseat.Besurethebelt
retractsassnuglyaspossible.Clicking
fromtheretractorwillbeheardduring
retractionifthesystemisinautomatic
lockingmode.Ifthebeltdoesnotlock
theseatdowntight,repeattheprevious
stepandalsothisone.
NOTE
Inspectthisfunctionbeforeeachuse
ofthechild-restraintsystem.You
shouldnotbeabletopullthe
shoulderbeltoutoftheretractor
whilethesystemisintheautomatic
lockingmode.Whenyouremovethe
child-restraintsystem,besurethe
beltfullyretractstoreturnthesystem
toemergencylockingmodebefore
occupantsusetheseatbelts.
