engineiscranked.Afterabout6seconds
itgoesout.
NOTE
Thepretensionersystemwillonly
l
activateinamoderateorgreater
frontalornear-frontalcollision.It
willnotactivateinmostrollovers,
sideorrearimpacts.
Asystemmalfunctionisindicatedwhen
thewarninglightconstantlyflashes,
illuminatesordoesn'tilluminateatall
whentheignitionswitchisturnedtothe
ONposition.Ifanyoftheseoccur,consult
anAuthorizedMazdaDealerassoonas
possible.Thesystemmaynotworkinan
accident.
Somesmoke(non-toxicgas)willbe
l
releasedwhentheairbagsand
pretensionersdeploy.Thisdoesnot
indicateafire.Thisgasnormallyhas
noeffectonoccupants,however,
thosewithsensitiveskinmay
experiencelightskinirritation.If
residuefromthedeploymentofthe
airbagsorthefrontpretensioner
systemgetsontheskinorinthe
eyes,washitoffassoonaspossible.
WARNING
Self-ServicingtheAirBag/
PretensionerSystems:
Self-servicingortamperingwiththe
systemsisdangerous.Anairbag/
pretensionercouldaccidentally
activateorbecomedisabled.This
couldcauseseriousinjuries.Never
tamperwiththesystemsandalways
haveanAuthorizedMazdaDealer
performallservicingandrepairs.
