Thetwotripodometersshowindividualtripmileage.To
switch from odometer to trip odometers, press and
releasetheTripOdometerbutton.Toresetatripodom-
eter, display the desired trip odometer to be reset then
push and hold the button until the display resets (ap-
proximately2seconds).
15. MalfunctionIndicatorLight
Thislightispartofanonboarddiagnosticsystem
called OBD that monitors engine and automatic
transmissioncontrolsystems.Thelightwillillu-
minatewhenthekeyisintheONpositionbeforeengine
start.Ifthebulbdoesnotcomeonwhenturningthekey
fromOFFtoON,havetheconditioncheckedpromptly.

Certain conditions such as a loose or missing gas cap,
poor fuel quality, etc. may illuminate the light after
engine start. The vehicle should be serviced if the light
staysonthroughseveralofyourtypicaldrivingcycles.In
mostsituationsthevehiclewilldrivenormallyandwill
notrequiretowing.
Ifthevehiclediagnosticsystemdeterminesthatthefuel
filler cap is loose, improperly installed, or damaged,
GASCAP will be displayed in the instrument cluster
odometer. Tighten the fuel filler cap properly and press
theodometerresetbuttontoturntheGASCAPmessage
off.Iftheproblemcontinues,themessagewillappearthe
next time the vehicle is started. See Section 7 of this
manualformoreinformation.
The Malfunction Indicator Light flashes to alert you to
serious conditions that could lead to immediate loss of
powerorseverecatalyticconverterdamage.Thevehicle
shouldbeservicedassoonaspossibleifthisoccurs.

This display indicator shows that the Speed Control
SystemisON.
