Toavoiddamagetothepower
steeringpump,don'toperatethe
vehicleforlongperiodswhenthe
powersteeringfluidlevelislow.
NOTE
Ifthebrake/clutchfluidlevelislow,
havethebrakesandclutchinspected:
Lowbrakefluidlevelsaredangerous.
Lowlevelscouldsignalbrakelining
wearorabrakesystemleak.Your
brakescouldfailandcausean
accident.
Usespecifiedpowersteeringfluid(page10-4).
Inspectthefluidlevelateachengineoil
change.Addfluidifnecessary;itdoesnot
requireperiodicchanging.
Ifthefluidlevelislow,addfluiduntilit
reachesMAX.
Beforeaddingfluid,thoroughlycleanthe
areaaroundthecap.
CAUTION
ØBrakefluidwilldamagepainted
surfaces.Ifbrakefluiddoesgeton
apaintedsurface,washitoffwith
waterimmediately.
ØUsingnonspecifiedbrakefluids
(page10-4)willdamagethe
system.Mixingdifferentfluidswill
alsodamageit.
ThelevelmustbekeptbetweentheMAX
andMINmarks.
Visuallyexaminethelinesandhosesfor
leaksanddamage.
