inanaccidentthannoseatbeltat
all,usingaseatbeltwithan
expendedpretensionerorloadlimiter
loadedreducesthesafetyavailableto
you.Liketheairbags,theseatbelt
pretensionerswillonlyfunctiononce.
Aftertheyareexpended,theywillnot
functionagainandmustbereplaced
immediately.Iftheseatbelt
pretensionersarenotreplaced,the
riskofinjuryinacollisionwill
increase.AlwayshaveanAuthorized
MazdaDealerinspecttheseatbelt
pretensionersandairbagsafterany
collision.Expendedseatbelt
Properlydisposeofthepretensioner
system:
Improperdisposalofthepretensioner
systemoravehiclewithnon-
deactivatedpretensionersis
dangerous.Unlessallsafety
proceduresarefollowed,injurycould
result.AskanAuthorizedMazda
Dealerhowtosafelydisposeofthe
pretensionersystemorhowtoscrap
apretensioner-equippedvehicle.
NOTE
Thepretensionersystemwillactivateina
l
moderateorseverefrontal,near-frontal
collisionorroll-overaccident.The
pretensionersystemforthefrontpassenger
isdesignedtoonlydeployinaccordance
withthetotalseatedweightonthefront
passengerseat.Itwillnotactivateinmost
sideorrearimpacts.
Somesmoke(non-toxicgas)willbe

releasedwhentheairbagsand
pretensionersandairbagsmustbe
replacedafteranycollisionwhich
causedthemtodeploy.Additionally,
theloadlimiterwillonlylimitloads
onthechestonceinacollisionand
thisisanotherreasontohavethe
frontseatbeltsinspected.

dangerous.Youcouldaccidentally
activateitormakeitinoperable
whichwouldpreventitfrom
activatinginanaccident.The
occupantsorrepairerscouldbe
seriouslyinjured.
