Usethetetherandtetheranchoronly
forachild-restraintsystem:
Usingthetetherortetheranchorto
secureanythingbutachild-restraint
systemisdangerous.Thiscould
weakenordamagethetetheror
tetheranchorandresultininjury.
Followtheseinstructionswhenusinga
child-restraintsystem,unlessyouare
attachingaLATCH-equippedchild-
restraintsystemtotherearLATCHlower
anchors.Referto“LATCHChild-
RestraintSystems”(page2-41).

theheadrestraintandtheseatback:
Routingthetetherstrapontopofthe
headrestraintisdangerous.Ina
collisionthetetherstrapcouldslide
offtheheadrestraintandloosenthe
child-restraintsystem.Thechild-
restraintsystemcouldmovewhich
mayresultindeathorinjurytothe
child.
Alwaysattachthetetherstraptothe
correcttetheranchorposition:
Attachingthetetherstraptothe
incorrecttetheranchorpositionis
dangerous.Inacollision,thetether
strapcouldcomeoffandloosenthe
child-restraintsystem.Ifthechild-
restraintsystemmovesitcouldresult
indeathorinjurytothechild.
Alwaysattachthetetherstraptothe
correcttetheranchorposition:
Attachingthetetherstraptothe
incorrecttetheranchorpositionis
dangerous.Inacollision,thetether
strapcouldcomeoffandloosenthe
child-restraintsystem.Ifthechild-
restraintsystemmovesitcouldresult
indeathorinjurytothechild.
NOTE
Followthechild-restraintsystem
manufacturer'sinstructionscarefully.Ifyou
arenotsurewhetheryouhaveaLATCH
systemortether,checkinthechild-restraint
systemmanufacturer'sinstructionsandfollow
themaccordingly.Dependingonthetypeof
child-restraintsystem,itmaynotemployseat
beltswhichareinautomaticlockingmode.

Makesuretheseatbackissecurely
latchedbypushingitbackuntilitis
fullylocked.
