Donotallowachildtoleanoveroragainstthesidewindowofavehiclewithside
andcurtainairbags:
Itisdangeroustoallowanyonetoleanoveroragainstthesidewindow,theareaof
thefrontpassengerseat,thefrontandrearwindowpillarsandtheroofedgealong
bothsidesfromwhichthesideandcurtainairbagsdeploy,evenifachild-restraint
systemisused.Ifthevehicleisequippedwithsideandcurtainairbags,theimpactof
inflationcouldcauseseriousinjuryordeathtothechild.Furthermore,leaningover
oragainstthefrontdoorcouldblockthesideandcurtainairbagsandeliminatethe
advantagesofsupplementalprotection.Withthefrontairbagandtheadditional
sideairbagthatcomesoutofthefrontseat,therearseatisalwaysabetterlocation
forchildren.Donotallowachildtoleanoveroragainstthesidewindow,evenifthe
childisseatedinachild-restraintsystem.
Neveruseoneseatbeltonmorethanonepersonatatime:
Usingoneseatbeltformorethanonepersonatatimeisdangerous.Aseatbelt
usedinthiswaycannotspreadtheimpactforcesproperlyandthetwopassengers
couldbecrushedtogetherandseriouslyinjuredorevenkilled.Neveruseonebeltfor
morethanonepersonatatimeandalwaysoperatethevehiclewitheachoccupant
properlyrestrained.
Alwaysremovethechild-restraintsystemfromtherearseatbeforeoperatingthe
remotehandleleversfortherearseat:
Operatingtheremotehandleleverswhilearear-facingchild-restraintsystemisin
therearseatisdangerous.Itcouldcauseinjurytoachildseatedinthechild-
restraintsystemwhentheseatbacksuddenlyflipsforward.
CAUTION
Aseatbeltorchild-restraintsystemcanbecomeveryhotinaclosedvehicleduring
warmweather.Toavoidburningyourselforachild,checkthembeforeyouoryour
childtouchesthem.

YourMazdaisequippedwithLATCHloweranchorsforattachmentofspeciallydesignedLATCH
child-restraintsystemsintherearseat.Whenusingtheseanchorstosecureachild-restraintsystem,
