parkingbrakepedalfully.
WARNING
Beforeleavingthedriver'sseat,always
putthekeyorstartknobtoLOCK
position,settheparkingbrakeand
makesuretheshiftleverisinP:
Itisimportanttoplacethekeyor
startknobintheLOCKpositioneven
ifyouarenotremovingthekeyfrom
theignitionorleavingthevehicle.
Leavingthekeyinotherpositions
willdisablesomeofthevehicle
securitysystemsandrunthebattery
down.
Leavingthedriver'sseatwithout
puttingtheignitionswitchinLOCK
position,settingtheparkingbrake
andshiftingtheshiftlevertoPis
dangerous.Unexpectedvehicle
movementcouldoccur.Thiscould
causeanaccident.
Releasingtheparkingbrake
Depressthebrakepedal,thendepressthe
parkingbrakepedaluntilitreleases.
Graduallyletupontheparkingbrake
pedal.
CAUTION
Drivingwiththeparkingbrakeon
willcauseexcessivewearofthebrake
liningsorpads.
NOTE
Forparkinginsnow,refertoWinterDriving
(page4-10)regardingparkingbrakeuse.
NOTE
Releasetheparkingbrakepedaloncebefore
tryingtoreapplyit.
