Electronic assistants
The R-Class does everything it can to make your journey easier. With the Parktronic system and optional reversing camera, it even takes the strain
out of low-speed manoeuvres.
Parktronic (standard). The Parktronic parking
aid makes for easier manoeuvring in tight
spaces. As soon as it detects another vehicle or
object in the immediate vicinity, it alerts the
driver via a visual warning. If the distance from
the object drops to below 35cm, it emits an
additional acoustic warning. The system works
in the same way as an echo sounder, its ten
sensors emitting ultrasound signals that bounce
off any objects in their path.

a clearer picture of what’s behind the vehicle
when reversing.
Reversing camera (optional, only available in
conjunction with COMAND). The R-Class is also
available with a rear-mounted reversing camera
that makes for even safer parking. Activated
automatically as soon as reverse is engaged, it
uses a wide-angle lens in the tailgate handle to
capture the hard-to-see area immediately behind
