To enter the code, turn the key to the ON or ACC position
and press the ON/ VOL control. The word CODE will
appear on the display. Enter you r four digit code by
pressing the approp riate preset buttons in sequ ence. Your
rad io is now read y for basic operation.
If an invalid code is entered into the rad io, the rad io will
allow two more attem pts. After a third attem pt of enter-
ing an invalid code, the rad io will go into a locku p mode.
This is to prevent continu ous attem pts at entering the
wrong code until the right code is found .
Once a rad io is in this locku p mode, it must be in a state
where battery is applied for approxim ately 30 minu tes.
During this time, if the rad io is on, the display will show
“WAIT”. After approxim ately 30 minu tes, (rad io on)
rad io will display “CODE” thereby again querying the
operator for the 4 digit anti-theft code.
Radio Security Code
This rad io is equ ipped with an anti-theft featu re which
requ ires that a four digit code nu mber be entered when-
ever the power supply is interru pted (such as a discon-
nected battery). The four digit code can be found on the
last page of this manu al. Please rem ove this page from
the manu al and store it in a safe place outsid e of the
vehicle.
Operating Instructions - Radio Mode
NOTE: Pow er to operate the rad io is supplied throu gh
the ignition switch. It must be in the ON or ACC position
to operate the rad io.
