CAUTIO N!
For  moderate    grad es  and  to  assist   braking   on  dry
pavem ent  or in mud  and snow.  Begins at  a stop in low
gear  with autom  atic upshift  to  2nd gear.  Will not shift
to 3rd.
Before  movin g the  shift  lever  out  of P  (Park ), you
must  turn  the  ign ition  from LOCK  so the  steerin  g
wheel   and   shift   lever   are   released .  Otherw  ise,
damage  to  steerin g colu mn  or shifter  could  resu lt.

on steep  grad es. Begins  and  stays in  low gear  with  no
upshift.  Provid  es engine  compression   braking   at low
speed s.

tices  can overh  eat and  damage   the  tran smission  .
When   “rock ing”  a  stu ck  veh icle by   movin g  be-
tween  D  (Drive)  and  R (Reverse),   do not  spin  the
wheels  faster  than  15 mph  (24 km/h),  or drivetrain
damage   may resu lt.
WARN ING!
Never  use  P (Park ) position  with  an  autom atic  tran s-
mission   as  a  substitu  te  for  the  park ing   brak e.  Al-
ways   apply   park ing   brak e  fully   when   park ed   to
guard  again st veh icle  movem ent  and possib  le injury
or damage.
