Beforeattemptingatyrerepair,make
surethatthevehicleisparkedsafely,as
farawayfrompassingtrafficas
possible.
Ifthetyreinflationpressuredoesnot
reach1.8bar(26psi,180kPa)within
amaximumof10minutes,thetyre
mayhavesufferedexcessivedamage.
Atemporaryrepairwillnotbe
possible,andthevehicleshouldnot
bedrivenuntilthetyrehasbeen
renewed.
Makesuretheparkingbrakeisapplied
andPark(P)isselected.Select1stor
reversegearforvehicleswithamanual
transmission.

Openthetyrerepairkitandpeeloffthe
maximumspeedlabel.Attachthelabelto
thefasciainthedriver'sfieldofvision.
Takecarenottoobstructanyofthe
instrumentsorwarninglamps.
Donotattempttoremoveforeign
objectssuchasnails,screws,etc.from
thetyre.
Alwaysruntheenginewhenusingthe
compressor,unlessthevehicleisinan
enclosedorpoorlyventilatedspace,as
thismaycauseasphyxiation.

Uncoilthecompressorpowercableand
theinflationhose.
Unscrewtheorangecapfromthesealant
bottlereceiverandthesealantbottlecap.
Topreventoverheating,donotoperate
thecompressorcontinuouslyforlonger
than10minutes.
4. Screwthesealantbottleintothereceiverin
aclockwisedirectionuntiltight.
Note:Allvehicledriversandoccupantsshould
bemadeawarethatatemporaryrepairhas
beenmadetoatyrefittedtothevehicle.They
shouldalsobemadeawareofthespecial
drivingconditionsimposedwhenusinga
repairedtyre.
Note:Screwingthebottleontothereceiver
willpiercethebottle'sseal.Oncethe
receiverhasbeenfitted,aratchetprevents
itfrombeingremoved.

Removethevalvecapfromthedamaged
tyre.
REPAIRPROCEDURE
Removetheprotectivecapfromthe
inflationhose.Connecttheinflationhoseto
thetyrevalvemakingsurethatthehoseis
screwedonfirmly.
Checkthetyresidewallpriorto
inflation.Ifthereareanycracks,
bumpsorsimilardamage,donot
attempttoinflatethetyre.Donot
standdirectlybesidethetyrewhile
thecompressorispumping.Watchthe
tyresidewall.Ifanycracks,bumpsor
similardamageappear,turnoffthe
compressorandlettheairoutby
meansofthepressurereliefvalve.Do
notcontinuetousethetyre.

Makesurethecompressorswitchisinthe
Off(0)position,theninsertthepower
cableconnectorintoanauxiliarypower
socket.See76,AUXILIARYPOWER
SOCKETS.
Switchontheignition.See83,
SWITCHINGONTHEIGNITION.
Alternatively,ifthevehicleisnotina
confinedspacetheenginecanbestarted.
8.
Switchonthecompressorbypositioning
theswitchtothe(l )position.
