ignitionon.
FRONTAIRBAGS
Thefrontpassengeranddriverairbagsareable
todeployin2stages,dependingonthe
severityofthefrontalimpact.Inasevere
impact,theairbagsinflatefullytostage2
givingmaximumprotection.Inalesserimpact,
fullinflationmaynotberequired,sothe
airbagswillonlyinflatetostage1.Theknee
bolsterairbagwillalwaysfullyinflate.
Note:Thepassengerairbagmustbedisabled
whenarearwardfacingchildrestraintisfitted
tothefrontpassengerseat.
Airbagdisable/enableisachievedviathe
VehicleSet-upmenuontheInstrumentpanel.

SIDEAIRBAGS
Thesearedesignedtoprotectthethoraxregion
ofthetorsoandwilldeployonlyintheeventof
asideimpactandthen,onlyonthesideofthe
impact.
CURTAINAIRBAGS
Thecurtainairbagsaredeployedinsideimpact
androlloverevents,providinggreater
protectionfromseriousheadinjuries.
Anairbagstatusindicatorlamp,mountedon
theoverheadcontrolpanel(asillustrated),will
displaytheoperationalstatusofthepassenger
airbag.
AIRBAGDEPLOYMENTEFFECTS
Iftheairbagisdisabled,thestatusindicator
willdisplayPASSENGERAIRBAGOFF.Ifthe
airbagisenabledthestatusindicatorwill
displayONPASSENGERAIRBAGforthefirst
Whenanairbaginflates,afine
powderisreleased.Thisisnormal
andnotanindicationofamalfunction.
Thepowdermaycauseirritationtothe
skinandshouldbethoroughlyflushed
fromeyesandanycutsorabrasions.If
breathingdifficultyisexperienced,
leavethevehicleifpossibleoropen
thewindowsordoorstoallowfreshair
in.

Whencheckingtheoperationalstatus
ofthefrontpassengerairbag,make
suretheignitionisswitchedonand
thewarninglampbulbcheckperiodof
