Withtheseatbeltunfastened,unreelthe
seatbelttothelimitofitstravel.Checkthat
itunreelssmoothlywithnosnatchesor
snags.Allowthebelttofullyretract,again
checkingforsmoothoperation.
Partiallyunreeltheseatbelt,thenholdthe
tongueplateandgiveaquickforwardpull.
Themechanismmustlockandpreventany
furtherunreeling.
Ifanydamage,wear,cuts,defects,or
impairedoperationarenotedwiththe
seatbelts,thevehicleshouldbetaken
toaDealer/AuthorisedRepairerfor
immediateattention.Donotusethe
vehicleiftheseatbeltscannotbe
operatedcorrectly.
Ifanyoftheseatbeltsfailtomeetthose
criteria,immediatelycontactyour
Dealer/AuthorisedRepairer.
Donotcarryhard,fragile,orsharp
itemsbetweenyourpersonandthe
seatbelt.

Seatbeltsshouldbewornbyall
vehicleoccupants,foreveryjourney
nomatterhowshort.
Seatbeltremindercommenceswhenthe
vehicleisinmotionandthedriver'sbeltis
unbuckled.Dependentonmarket,anaudible
chimesoundsandthewarningindicatorinthe
Instrumentpanelilluminates.See44,SEAT
BELT(RED).Thevisualandaudiblewarnings
applicabletotheSeatbeltreminderfeatureare
marketdependenttomeetindividualmarket
requirements.Thewarningsignalsgivenmay
alsochangedependingonwhetherthevehicle
isstationaryorwhenthevehiclespeedexceeds
apre-determinedthreshold.Incertainmarkets,

rearseatbeltreminderthatwarnsthedriver
whentheseatbeltofanyoccupiedseatisnot
fastenedorisunfastenedduringajourney.
Note:Ifthevehicleisparkedonanincline,the
seatbeltmechanismmaylock.Thisisasafety
featureandthebeltshouldbegentlyeasedout
fromtheupperanchorage.
Theseatbeltsshouldbeinspectedregularlyto
checkforfraying,cuts,weartothewebbing
andtheconditionandsecurityofthe
mechanism,buckles,adjustersandmounting
points.
Withtheseatbeltfastened,givethe
webbingnearthebuckleaquickupward
pull.Thebucklemustremainsecurely
locked.
