Liftthebatterywithabatterycarrierorwithyourhandsonopposite
corners.
Keepbatteriesoutofreachofchildren.Batteriescontainsulfuric
acid.Avoidcontactwithskin,eyesorclothing.Shieldyoureyes
whenworkingnearthebatterytoprotectagainstpossiblesplashingof
acidsolution.Incaseofacidcontactwithskinoreyes,flush
immediatelywithwaterforaminimumof15minutesandgetprompt
medicalattention.Ifacidisswallowed,callaphysicianimmediately.
Becauseyourvehicle’sengineiselectronicallycontrolledbyacomputer,
somecontrolconditionsaremaintainedbypowerfromthebattery.When
thebatteryisdisconnectedoranewbatteryisinstalled,theenginemust
relearnitsidleandfueltrimstrategyforoptimumdriveabilityand
performance.Tobeginthisprocess:

PutthegearshiftinP(Park)(automatictransaxle)ortheneutral
position(manualtransaxle),turnoffallaccessoriesandstarttheengine.

Therelearningprocesswillautomaticallycompleteasyoudrivethe
vehicle.

Thevehiclemayneedtobedriven16km(10miles)ormoreto
relearntheidleandfueltrimstrategy.
Ifyoudonotallowtheenginetorelearnitsidletrim,theidlequality
ofyourvehiclemaybeadverselyaffecteduntiltheidletrimis
eventuallyrelearned.
Ifthebatteryhasbeendisconnectedoranewbatteryhasbeeninstalled,
theclockandthepresetradiostationsmustberesetoncethebatteryis
reconnected.
