mustbeintheONpositionforthislamptoilluminate.Thelampwillalso
illuminateforseveralsecondsaftertheignitionisturnedtotheON
positionregardlessofthefuellevel.

II).TheOBDIIsystemprotectsthe

environmentbyensuringthatyourvehiclecontinuestomeet
governmentemissionstandards.TheOBDIIsystemalsoassiststhe
servicetechnicianinproperlyservicingyourvehicle.
TheServiceEngineSoonindicatorlightilluminateswhentheignitionis
firstturnedtotheONpositiontocheckthebulb.Ifitcomesonafterthe
engineisstarted,oneoftheengine’semissioncontrolsystemsmaybe
malfunctioning.Thelightmayilluminatewithoutadriveabilityconcernbeing
noted.Thevehiclewillusuallybedrivableandwillnotrequiretowing.
