vehiclesensitive(emergency)lockingmode.
Afteranyvehiclecollision,thecombinationlapandshoulderbelt
systematallpassengerseatingpositionsmustbecheckedbya
qualifiedtechniciantoverifythatthe“automaticlockingretractor”
featureforchildseatsisstillfunctioningproperly,inadditiontoother
checksforproperseatbeltsystemfunction.
BELTANDRETRACTORASSEMBLYMUSTBEREPLACEDif
theseatbeltassembly“automaticlockingretractor”featureor
anyotherseatbeltfunctionisnotoperatingproperly.Inaddition,all
seatbeltsshouldbecheckedforproperfunction.Failuretoreplacethe
beltandretractorassemblycouldincreasetheriskofinjuryin
collisions.
Safety belt pretensioner
Yourvehicleisequippedwithsafetybeltpretensionersatthedriverand
rightfrontpassengerseatingpositions.
Thesafetybeltpretensionerremovessomeslackfromthesafetybelt
systematthestartofacrash.Thesafetybeltpretensionerusesthe
samecrashsensorsystemasthefrontairbagsandSafetyCanopy
system.Whenthesafetybeltpretensionerdeploys,thelapandshoulder
beltaretightened.
WhentheSafetyCanopysystemand/orthefrontairbagsareactivated,
thesafetybeltpretensionersforthedriverandrightfrontpassenger
seatingpositionswillbeactivatedwhentherespectiveseatbeltis
properlybuckled.
Thedriverandtherightfrontpassengerseatbeltsystem
(includingretractors,bucklesandheightadjusters)mustbe
replacedifthevehicleisinvolvedinacollisionthatresultsin
deploymentoffrontairbagsorSafetyCanopyandsafetybelt
pretensioners.
RefertotheSafetybeltmaintenancesectioninthischapter.
