tireremoval.Thesensorcanbe
removedbylooseningthenutatthevalvestem.Failureto
removethesensormaydamageit.Therubbergrommet(washer)
betweenthewheelandthetirepressuresensorneedstobereplaced
whenanytireischangedtominimizeairleaks.
Thetirepressureshouldbecheckedperiodically(atleastmonthly)using
atiregauge,refertoTireinflationpressureinthischapter.
USING SNOW TIRES AND TRACTION DEVICES
Snowtiresmustbethesamesizeandgradeasthetiresyou
currentlyhaveonyourvehicle.
Thetiresonyourvehiclehaveall-weathertreadstoprovidetractionin
rainandsnow.However,insomeclimates,usingsnowtiresortraction
devicesmaybenecessary.FordofferstirecablesasaFordapproved
accessoryandrecommendsuseoftheseorSAEclass“S”tirecables.See
yourdealerorqualifiedservicetechnicianformoreinformationontire
cablesforyourvehicle.

Cablesorchainsshouldonlybeusedontherearwheels.
Installcablesorchainssecurely,verifyingthatthecablesorchainsdo
nottouchanywiring,brakelinesorfuellines.

thevehicle,stopandretightenthem.Ifthisdoesnotwork,removethe
cablesorchainstopreventvehicledamage.
