Always engage the parking brake be-
fore leaving the car. This also turns on
the parking brake indicator light when
the key is in the "ON" or "START"
position. Before driving away, be sure
that the parking brake is fully released
and the warning light is off.
o Pull and raise the "DOOR" release
lever to open the hatchback door.
o To close, lower the door, then press
down on it until it locks. To be sure
the door is securely fastened, al-
ways try to pull it up again.
o Pull the "GLASS" release lever (1)
to open the hatchback door window
glass, and raise the window open
lever (2).
o To close the hatchback door win-
dow, lower the hatchback door win-
dow, and it will close by itself.
To be sure the hatchback door win-
dowissecurelyfastened,alwaystry
to pull it up again.

WARNING:
o To engage the parking brake, apply
the foot brake and pull up the lever
as far as possible.
o To release the parking brake, apply
the foot brake and pull up the lever
slightly. Then, whilst holding the
thumb button in, lower the brake
lever.
The hatchback door should always
be kept completely closed while
the vehicle is in motion. If it is left
open or ajar, poisonous exhaust
gases may enter the car resulting in
seriousillnessordeathtotheoccu-
pants.Seeadditionalwarningscon-
cerning exhaust gases on page 2-2.
NOTE:
The hatchback door window lock is
operatedinconnectionwiththehatch-
back door lock. To open the hatch-
back door window make sure the
hatchback door is unlocked with a
keyorthecentraldoorlockingswitch.
