IncorrectAttachmentoftheTether
Strap(Third-rowseat):
Routingthetetherstrapbetweenthe
headrestraintpostsisdangerousasit
coulddamageorweakertheseatback,
resultinginthechild-restraintsystem
notbeingcorrectlysecured.Ina
collision,thechild-restraintsystem
couldshiftorloosenwhichmayresult
indeathorinjurytothechild.Always
routethetetherstrapoverthehead
restraint.
LikewisetheLATCHchild-restraint
systemcannotbesecuredinthefront
passenger'sseatandshouldbeusedinthe
second-rowseats.
Don'tallowanyonetosleepagainstthe
sidewindowifyouhaveanoptionalside
andcurtainairbag,itcouldcauseserious
injuriestoanoutofpositionoccupant.As
childrenmoreoftensleepincars,itis
bettertoputthemintherearseat.If
installingthechild-restraintsystemonthe
frontseatisunavoidable,followthese
instructionswhenusingafront-facing
child-restraintsysteminthefront
passenger'sseat.
