1.
Removethekeyfromtheignition
switch.
Thetheft-deterrentsystemisdesignedto
preventyourvehicleoritscontentsfrom
beingstolenwhenalldoors,hood,and
liftgatearelocked.
2. Makesurethehoodisclosed.Close
andlockalldoorsandtheliftgatefrom
theoutsideusingthekeyorpressthe
lockbuttononyourkeylessentry
systemtransmitter.
Ifforcibleentryisattempted,thesystem
soundsthehornandflashesthehazard
warninglights.
Thehazardwarninglightswillflash
oncetoindicatethatthesystemis
armed.
NOTE
Thefollowingmethodwillalsoarmthe
theft-deterrentsystem:
Closethehoodandtheliftgate.Press
theareaonthedoor-lockswitch
marked“LOCK”once.Closealldoors.
Thetheft-deterrentsystemoperates
withthekeyorthekeylessentry
systemtransmitter.

Thesystemwillnotfunctionunless
l
itisproperlyarmed.Toproperly
securethevehicle,alwaysmakesure
allwindowsarecompletelyclosed
andalldoorsandtheliftgateare
lockedbeforeleavingthevehicle.
Remembertotakeyourkeyand
transmitter.
NOTE
Lockingthedoorswiththeinsidedoor-
lockknobwillnotarmthesystem.

Anarmedsystemcanbeturnedoffbyany
oneofthefollowingmethods:

Systemtriggeringconditions
Unlockadoorwiththekey.

Thehornsoundsintermittentlyandthe
hazardwarninglightsflashforabout25
secondswhenthesystemistriggeredby
anyoneofthefollowing:
Presstheunlockbuttononthekeyless
entrysystemtransmitter.
l
Insertthekeyintotheignitionswitch
l
andturnittotheONposition.
Forcingopenadoor,thehoodorthe
l
liftgate.
Thehazardwarninglightswillflashtwice
toindicatethatthesystemisturnedoff.
Openingadoororthehoodby
operatinganinsidedoor-lockknobor
thehoodreleasehandle.
l
Ifthesystemistriggeredagain,thelights
andhornwillactivateuntiladoororthe
liftgateisunlockedwiththekeyorwith
thetransmitter.
