injuryordeathtothechild.
Furthermore,leaningoveroragainst
thefrontdoorcouldblockthesideand
curtainairbagsandeliminatethe
advantagesofsupplemental
protection.Withthefrontairbagand
theadditionalsideairbagthatcomes
outofthefrontseat,therearseatis
alwaysabetterlocationforchildren.
Donotallowachildtoleanoveror
againstthesidewindow,evenifthe
childisseatedinachild-restraint
system.
2. Securethechild-restraintsystemwith
thelapportionofthelap/shoulderbelt.
Seethemanufacturer'sinstructionson
thechild-restraintsystemforbelt
routinginstructions.

Togettheretractorintotheautomatic
lockingmode,pulltheshoulderbelt
portionoftheseatbeltuntiltheentire
lengthofthebeltisoutoftheretractor.
4.
Pushthechild-restraintsystemfirmly
intothevehicleseat.Besurethebelt
retractsassnuglyaspossible.Clicking
fromtheretractorwillbeheardduring
retractionifthesystemisinautomatic
lockingmode.Ifthebeltdoesnotlock
theseatdowntight,repeattheprevious
stepandalsothisone.
