Theturbochargergreatlyenhancesenginepower.Itsadvanceddesignprovidesimproved
operationandrequiresminimumadditionalmaintenance.Togetmaximumperformance
fromyourturbochargedengine,takenoteofthefollowingtips:
Theturbochargedengineisdesignedforoptimaloperationwithpremiumunleaded

gasoline(page4-2).Donotusefuelwithaloweroctanerating.Extrafueladditivesare
NOTrecommended.
Changetheengineoilandfilterusingtheturboengineintervaloutlinedinthe
l
maintenanceschedule(foryourdrivingcondition).
Useonlytherecommendedengineoil(page8-18).ExtraoiladditivesareNOT
l
recommended.
Afterdrivingatfreewayspeedsorupalonghill,idletheengineatleast30secondsto
l
cooltheturbobeforeturningofftheengine.Avoidsimplyshuttingtheengineoff
abruptlyafterahardorlongdrive.Damagetotheturbochargermayresult.
Don'traceorover-revtheenginewhenstarting.ThisshouldnotbedonewithANY
l
engine,especiallynotwithonethat'sturbocharged.
Donotaddanyaftermarketdevicestoaltertheengine'signitiontiming,fueldelivery,or
l
turboboostpressure.Thismayleadtoseriousenginedamageandmayvoidyour
warranty.
