dangerous.Thefoldingrearseatbacks
cannotbefoldeddownfrominsidethe
trunk.Oncetheseatbacksarebackup,
achildinthetrunkwouldnotbeable
togetoutthewaytheyhadentered.If
youhavesmallchildren,keepthe
seatbackslocked(sedan).

thecarkeyssafelyawayfrom

vehicleismoving:
Drivingwithapassengeronthefolded
seatbackisdangerous.Allowinga
childtosituponthefoldedseatback
whilethevehicleismovingis
particularlydangerous.Inasudden
stoporevenaminorcollision,achild
notinaproperseatorchild-restraint
systemandseatbeltcouldbethrown
forward,backorevenoutofthe
vehicleresultinginseriousinjuriesor
death.Thechildinthebaggagearea
couldbethrownintootheroccupants
andcauseseriousinjury.
Leavingyourcarunlockedorthekeys
inreachofchildrenisdangerous.
Childrenwhofindtheirwayintothe
trunkthroughanunlockedrear
seatbackoranopentrunkcanbecome
accidentallylockedinthetrunk.This
couldresultindeathorbraindamage
fromheatprostration,particularlyin
thesummer.Alwayslockthedoors
andthetrunk,andasanadded
measure,keeptherearseatbacks
locked,whetheryouhavechildrenin
yourhomeornot.
NOTE
Whenreturningarearseattoits
originalposition,alsoreplacetheseat
belttoitsnormalposition.Verifythat
theseatbeltpullsoutandretracts.
