Deactivating intermittent wipe
Problems while driving

Turn rear window wiper switch 1 to
position 4 (୴ page 61).
The engine runs erratically and misfires
Indicator 6 for the rear window wiper
is cleared from the lower multifunction
display, indicating that the rear window
wiper is deactivated.
An ignition cable may be damaged
(gasoline engine only).

Rear window wiper indicator
The engine electronics may not be
operating properly.

Switch on the ignition (୴ page 39).
Wiping with windshield washer fluid
Unburned gasoline may have entered
the catalytic converter and damaged it
(gasoline engine only).

matically when the automatic transmission is
shifted to position R with the windshield wipers
switched on.

switch 1 in position 2 or 5

will see indicator 6, indicating that
the rear window wiper is activated.
