displaybecausetheyaremoreurgent.These
messages requireactionbeforetheycanbecleared.
Youshouldtakeanymessages thatappearonthe
displayseriously andrememberthatclearing the
messages willonlymakethemessages disappear,not
correcttheproblem.

Thisdisplaynormallyshowsinstantaneous fuel
HOODOPEN
economy.WhenthevehicleisinAutoStopmodeAUTO
STOPorIFE=99MPG(l/00km) willbedisplayed. See
Starting theVehicle on page 3‑3 formoreinformation.
Ifthehoodisnotfullyclosedorthereisaproblemwith
thehoodswitch,thismessagewillbedisplayed. Close
thehoodtoclearthemessage.IftheHOODOPEN
messagecontinues tobedisplayed afterverifying the
hoodisclosed,youshouldhavethehoodswitch
serviced. Failuretoservicethehoodswitchproperly
canresultinanAutoStartcondition.
DICWarningsandMessages
Warningmessagesaredisplayed ontheDICtonotify
thedriverthatthestatusofthevehiclehaschanged
andthatsomeactionmaybeneededbythedriverto
correctthecondition. Ifthereismorethanonemessage
thatneedstobedisplayed theywillappearoneafter
another.
AutoStopswillbedisabled whenthismessageis
displayed. Ifthevehicleisinautostopmodewhenthis
messageappears,theenginewillinstantly start.
Somemessages maynotrequireimmediate action,but
youcanpressanyoftheDICbuttonsontheinstrument
paneltoacknowledge thatyoureceived themessages
andtoclearthemfromthedisplay.
