UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL
If the rear wiper is operating when the ignition is turned
OFF, the wiper will autom atically retu rn to the “Park”
position. When the vehicle is restarted , the wiper will
resu me function at whichever position the switch is set
at.
Adding Wash er Fluid
The fluid reservoir for the wind shield washers and the
rear wind ow washer is shared . It is located in the front of
the engine compartm ent on the passenger side and
shou ld be checked for fluid level at regu lar intervals. Fill
the reservoir with wind shield washer solvent (not rad ia-
tor antifreeze) and operate the system for a few second s
to flush out the resid ual water.
If the swing gate flip-up wind ow is open or the swing
gate is open, connection to the rear wind ow wiper is
interru pted preventing activation of the rear wiper blad e.
When the swing gate flip-up wind ow or the swing gate is
closed , the rear wiper switch or the ignition switch need s
to be turned OFF, and then to ON to restart the rear
wiper.
Rear Window Defroster
On the top of the climate control panel is a push
button for rear wind ow defrosting. An amber
ind icator in the push button will light when the defroster
is turned on. Push again to turn off the defroster prior to
an autom atic time-ou t.
NOTE: The rear swing gate will lock while the rear
wiper is operatin g. The gate will stay lock ed until the
wiper is turned off and the gate is unlock ed (by key,
lock switch , or key fob ).
