Hydraulic Clutch Fluid — Manual Transmission
The clutch hyd rau lic system is a sealed maintenance free
system . In the event of leakage or other malfunction, the
system must be rep laced .
Freq uency of Fluid Change
Und er norm al operating cond itions, the fluid installed at
the factory will give satisfactory lubrication for the life of
the vehicle. Fluid changes are not necessary unless the
lubricant has becom e contam inated with water. If con-
tam inated with water, the fluid shou ld be changed im-
mediately.
Manual Transmission
Selection of Lubrican t
Use only manu factu rer’s recom mend ed manu al trans-
mission fluid, refer to Recom mend ed Fluids, Lubricants,
and Genu ine Parts for correct fluid typ e.
Transfer Case
Fluid Level Check
Insp ect the transfer case for fluid leaks. If a fluid leak is
evid ent, the transfer case fluid level can be checked by
remtransferovingcase.the fill plug (B) located at the back of the 7
Fluid Level Check
Check the fluid level by rem oving the fill plug. The fluid
level shou ld be betw een the bottom of the fill hole and a
point not more than 3/ 16” (4.76 mm) below the bottom of
the hole.
Add fluid, if necessary, to maintain the prop er level.
