ShiftautomatictransmissionintoD(Drive)ormanual
Transmission damage may occur if the automatic
transmissionisshiftedintoP(Park)withthetransfer
caseinN(Neutral)andtheenginerunning.Withthe
transfercaseinN(Neutral)ensurethattheengineis
OFFpriortoshiftingthetransmissionintoP(Park)
(refertosteps7–8above).

WARNING!
You or others could be injured if you leave the
vehicle unattended with the transfer case in the N
(Neutral) position without first fully engaging the
parkingbrake.ThetransfercaseN(Neutral)position
disengagesboththefrontandreardriveshaftsfrom
the powertrain and will allow the vehicle to move
regardlessofthetransmissionposition.Theparking
brake should always be applied when the driver is
notinthevehicle.

Usethefollowingproceduretoprepareyourvehiclefor
normalusage.
