Adding engine oil

Checktheengineoil.Forinstructions,refertoCheckingtheengine
oilinthischapter.

Iftheengineoillevelisnotwithinthenormalrange,addonlycertified
engineoiloftherecommendedviscosity.Removetheengineoilfillercap
anduseafunneltopourtheengineoilintotheopening.
3.
Rechecktheengineoillevel.Makesuretheoillevelisnotabovethe
MAXmarkontheengineoillevelindicator(dipstick).

Installtheindicatorandensureitisfullyseated.
Fullyinstalltheengineoilfillercapbyturningthefillercapclockwise
tightlyuntilclicksareheard,oruntilitissnug.
Toavoidpossibleoilloss,DONOToperatethevehiclewiththe
engineoillevelindicatorand/ortheengineoilfillercapremoved.
Engine oil and filter  recommendations
Lookforthiscertification
trademark.
UseSAE5W-20engineoil.
Onlyuseoils“CertifiedForGasolineEngines”bytheAmerican
PetroleumInstitute(API).Anoilwiththistrademarksymbolconforms
tothecurrentengineandemissionsystemprotectionstandardsandfuel
economyrequirementsoftheInternationalLubricantStandardizationand
ApprovalCommittee(ILSAC),comprisedofU.S.andJapanese
automobilemanufacturers.
Toprotectyourengine’swarrantyuseMotorcraftSAE5W-20oran
equivalent5W-20oilmeetingFordspecificationWSS-M2C930-A.SAE
5W-20oilprovidesoptimumfueleconomyanddurability
performancemeetingallrequirementsforyourvehicle’sengine.
Donotusesupplementalengineoiladditives,cleanersorotherengine
treatments.Theyareunnecessaryandcouldleadtoenginedamagethat
isnotcoveredbyFordwarranty.
