Whenthefrontpassengersensingsystemenablesthefrontpassenger
frontalairbag(mayinflate),theindicatorwillbeunlitandstayunlit.
Ifapersonofadultsizeissittinginthefrontpassenger’sseat,butthe
ЉpassengerairbagoffЉorЉpassairbagoffЉindicatorlampislit,itis
possiblethatthepersonisn’tsittingproperlyintheseat.Ifthishappens:

Turnthevehicleoffandaskthepersontoplacetheseatbackinthe
fulluprightposition.
Havethepersonsituprightintheseat,centeredontheseatcushion,
withtheperson’slegscomfortablyextended.
Restartthevehicleandhavethepersonremaininthispositionfor
abouttwominutes.Thiswillallowthesystemtodetectthatperson
andenablethepassenger’sfrontalairbag.

Iftheindicatorlampremainslitevenafterthis,thepersonshouldbe
advisedtorideintherearseat.

Afteralloccupantshaveadjustedtheirseatsandputonsafetybelts,it’s
veryimportantthattheycontinuetositproperly.Aproperlyseated
occupantsitsupright,leaningagainsttheseatback,andcenteredonthe
seatcushion,withtheirfeetcomfortablyextendedonthefloor.Sitting
improperlycanincreasethechanceofinjuryinacrashevent.For
example,ifanoccupantslouches,liesdown,turnssideways,sitsforward,
leansforwardorsideways,orputsoneorbothfeetup,thechanceof
injuryduringacrashisgreatlyincreased.
Sittingimproperlyoutofpositionorwiththeseatbackreclined
toofarcantakeoffweightfromtheseatcushionandaffectthe
decisionofthefrontpassengersensingsystem,resultinginserious
injuryordeathinacrash.
Alwayssituprightagainstyourseatback,withyourfeetonthefloor.
