windshield,refertoWindowsandwiperbladesintheCleaningchapter.
Toprolongthelifeofthewiperblades,itishighlyrecommendedto
scrapeofftheiceonthewindshieldbeforeturningonthewipers.The
layeroficehasmanysharpedgesandcandamagethemicroedgeofthe
wiperrubberelement.
ENGINE OIL
Checking the engine oil
Refertothescheduledmaintenanceinformationfortheappropriate
intervalsforcheckingtheengineoil.

Makesurethevehicleisonlevelground.
Turntheengineoffandwaitafewminutesfortheoiltodrainintothe
oilpan.

SettheparkingbrakeandensurethegearshiftissecurelylatchedinP
(automatictransaxle)or1st(manualtransaxle).

Openthehood.Protectyourselffromengineheat.
Locateandcarefullyremovetheengineoillevelindicator(dipstick).
Wipetheindicatorclean.Inserttheindicatorfully,thenremoveitagain.
Iftheoillevelisbetweenthe
MINandMAXmarks,theoil
levelisacceptable.DONOT
ADDOIL.

MAXrange.RefertoAdding
engineoilinthischapter.
OillevelsaboveMAXmark
maycauseenginedamage.If

byanauthorizeddealer.
Puttheindicatorbackinandensureitisfullyseated.
