Turnthekeyto4(START),
thenreleasethekeyassoonastheenginestarts.Excessivecranking
coulddamagethestarter.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstartwithinfivesecondsonthefirsttry,
turnthekeyto1(LOCK),wait10secondsandtryagain.Iftheengine
stillfailstostart,presstheacceleratortothefloorandtryagain;thiswill
allowtheenginetocrankwiththefuelshutoffincasetheengineis
floodedwithfuel.
Ifyourvehiclehasanautomatictransmission,itwillhaveacomputer
assistedcrankingsystem.Thisfeatureassistsinstartingtheengine.If
theignitionkeyisturnedto4(START)andthenreleasedwhenthe
enginebeginscranking,theenginemaycontinuecrankingforupto

secondsoruntilthevehiclestarts.
Guardingagainstexhaustfumes
Althoughodorlessandcolorless,carbonmonoxideispresentinexhaust
fumes.Takeprecautionstoavoiditsdangerouseffects.
WARNING: Ifyoueversmellexhaustfumesofanykindinside
yourvehicle,haveyourauthorizeddealerinspectandfixyour
vehicleimmediately.Donotdriveifyousmellexhaustfumes.
Thesefumesareharmfulandresultinaccidentordeath.
Havetheexhaustandbodyventilationsystemscheckedwhenever:
